LEVEL 2 FOOD SAFETY MANAGER TRAINING - IN PERSON AND ONLINE COURSE OPTIONS AVAILABLE
The Ohio Department of Health is now requiring all food service facilities licensed at a ‘Risk Level 3 or 4’ to have at least one staff person who has completed an ODH approved Level 2 Food Safety training. This requirement is to be met by March 2017.
Washington County now has a couple of options available to assist food service facilities to meet this obligation:
ServSafe® In-Class Manager Training
ServSafe® Manager Training has become the industry standard in food-safety training and is accepted in almost all U.S. jurisdictions that require employee certification. Manager Training meets ODH Level 2 Training Requirements. The Manager Training program provides food service managers, operators, and owners with accurate, up-to-date information on all aspects of handling food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from ServSafe® and an Ohio Food Protection Card from ODH. Several three-day, in person classes have been scheduled for 2017. See the registration brochure for dates. The class fee is $140 per person.
TAP Online Manager Training
Training Achievement Program Series is an online food safety curriculum that meets all ODH Level 2 Training Requirements. Participants receive a Certificate of Completion from TAP and an Ohio Food Protection Card from ODH. You can complete the online course at your own speed and at a time that works for you. Once training is completed, you will take a proctored certification exam. Enrollment fee is $150 per person and covers online training and ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certification exam.
