    ServSafe Employee Training Employee Training is a one-day basic food safety training which meets ODH Level 1 Training Requirements for food service employees as well as those opening an establishment for the first time.

    Following a careful meal plan is the first step in controlling blood sugar for people with diabetes. This is also the hardest step. Dining with Diabetes helps by teaching people with diabetes to reduce sugar, salt, and fat in foods without giving up good taste. This class series will take place on Wednesdays, June 22, 29 & July 6 from 6:00pm-8:00pm, and will be held at the Ohio State University Extension office located at 202 Davis Avenue, Marietta.     On June 11th at the Barlow Fairgrounds from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, OSU Extension, Washington Soil and Water Conservation District, and the NRCS will be hosting a goat workshop for youths and adults.  Please see the schedule below for details on topics which will be covered at the workshop.  The workshop is limited to the first 20 who sign-up and the cost of the workshop will be $20.00.  The $20.00 will cover lunch and FAMACHA certification.  Reservations are requested for food and handout information preparation and must be received by June 9th.

    Gardening Road Show 30 will take place April 14 & 15, 2016. Travel to The Cincinnati Flower Show and stay overnight at Fairfield Inn & Suites Eastgate. Next day tour Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati and The Great Serpent Mound in Peebles Ohio. This event is presented by Ohio State University Master Gardeners of Washington County.

    Fertilizer certification is required for farmers who apply fertilizer (other than manure) to more than 50 acres of land for agricultural production grown primarily for SALE.  The term “agricultural production” is defined as the cultivation, primarily for SALE, of plants or any parts of plants on more than 50 acres. If you raise forage (e.g., hay, silage, corn) for use on your farm, you don’t need to have a fertilizer certificate to apply fertilizer.  The fertilizer certification must be obtained by September 30, 2017.  Training will be offered every year.
