    Educational Equine Sessions Equine Educational Riding sessions will be held on May 13, June 27, and July 20.  All horse project members must attend ONE session in order to participate in the County Fair Horse Show.  A horse project member who wishes to participate in a PAS show must attend the May 13th Equine session to compete in the PAS show.  Below are the dates, locations, and topics of interest.  Claudia Simms is located at 890 Lovers Lane, Beverly Ohio.

    Simplifying Your Garden Without Diminishing Your Joy - featured presentation by Debra Knapke, The Garden Sage True success in simplifying your life and subsequently your garden depends on understanding its parts, and how they fit within the bigger picture.  Debra will use her own garden and others’ to provide inspiration for the creation of a simpler, blissful garden.

    Come learn about the history of climate change, its current trends and outlook, and hear tips on gardening practices relative to climate change with Dr. Thomas Blaine, PhD, Associate Professor, Ohio State University, on Tuesday,  March 21st, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Washington State Community College’s Graham Auditorium.

    OSU Extension Washington County and the Belpre Tree Commission is proud to sponsor a fruit tree pruning workshop for local residents.  Learn how to prune fruit trees at this hands on workshop led by local orchardist Eric Wagner, of Wagner Fruit Farm.  Eric Wagner is the owner and operator of Wagner Fruit Farm in Waterford OH and is a third generation orchardist.  The farm was started in 1938 by Eric’s grandfather, Willard Wagner.

    Gardening Road Show 31 will take place October 6, 2016. Travel to Cleveland Botanical Gardens for a guided tour, lunch, and then tour gardens on your own. Visit Hirt's Gardens in Wadsworth OH and then stop at the Dutch Valley Restaurant for dinner and shopping.  This event is presented by Ohio State University Master Gardeners of Washington County.

    The Master Gardener Program is offered through the county's OSU Extension office in Marietta. Trainings in 2016 will take place on Tuesdays September 27,  October 4, 18, and 25,  November 1 and 8. All Tuesday classes run from 9 AM to 4:00 PM. Lunch will be provided. There will be one Saturday event on October 15 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This will be to attend the Master Gardener Garden Party at Washington County Career Center, SR 676 in Marietta. You will listen to a featured speaker on a horticulture topic and attend educational breakout sessions.
