New Matamoras Food Pantry - Colorful Foods

Wednesday, September 16, 2015 - 9:00am to 10:00am
Location:
New Matamoras Food Pantry

Is Orange Your Favorite Rainbow Color?

Roy G. Biv, also ROYGBIV, is an acronym for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. We need to remember ROYGBIV when we think of our daily snacks, too. Eating this rainbow gives us a variety of nutrient-dense foods.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Assistant, Cindy Styer, will confront this challenge of choosing a variety of colorful foods at FREE, open-to-the-public classes offered not only at county libraries, but at various food pantries and free meal sites in September.

County Library dates are:

Belpre - Monday, September 14, 1:30-2:30pm

Marietta - Monday, September 21, 1:30-2:30pm

Beverly - Thursday, September 24, 10:30-11:30am

Other Opportunities:

Tunnel United Methodist Church Free Meal Site - Thursday, September 10, 4:45-5:45pm

New Matamoras Food Pantry - Wednesday, September 16, 9:00-10:00am

3 C's Food Pantry, Cutler Community Center - Friday, September 18, 4:30-5:30pm

Plan to join us and enjoy information, camaraderie and a Guiltless Pumpkin Pie recipe while getting healthier. No pre-registration is required. Classes are funded by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Everyone is welcome to attend.
