More opportunities to learn how to Eat Smart and Live Strong are being offered in Washington County. Through the nutrition education part of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-Ed) or food assistance in Ohio, SNAP-eligible participants can learn and have fun at the same time.

The Centers for Disease Control report that more than 3/4 of the Washington County population consume less than the recommended amount of vegetables and fruit per day. Need a way to increase your consumption? Nearly half of SNAP-Ed participants regularly consume a variety of vegetables and fruit. At SNAP-Ed you will learn how to choose and prepare foods to improve the quality of your meals.

During October and November, Whole Wheat Choices, Grocery Shopping, Plant Protein, and Eating More Vegetables and Fruits will be presented. Banana Split Oatmeal is a highlighted recipe you won't want to miss.

We'll meet on October 29 at the Beverly Library from 10:30am-11:30am.

In November, programs will be at the following locations, dates and times:

Belpre Library on November 2 and 23 from 1:00pm-2:00pm
Marietta Library on November 16 and 30 from 1:00pm-2:00pm
Beverly Library on November 19 from 10:30am-11:30am
New Matamoras Food Pantry on November 18 from 9:00am-10:00am
Three C's Food Pantry at Cutler Community Center on November 20 from 4:30pm-5:30pm

No pre-registration is required.
Classes are funded by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
