Let's Go Camping!
Are you looking for something fun and educational for your children to do this summer? Send them camping with us! OSU Extension, Hocking County is returning to Tar Hollow State Park to camp in 2013. The multi-age Beginner/Junior Camp, for youth who were age 8 - 13 as of January 1, 2013 and who completed grades 3 - 8 will be held July 8-11. In addition to canoeing (pictured) 4-H’ers have opportunities to swim, hike, dance, do crafts, learn about nature, make new friends and have a lot of fun at camp. In addition, we will be doing some activities from the National 4-H Health Rocks curriculum that focus on prevention of substance abuse. The camp registration fee will be $110 per participant with a deadline to register of June 14. Families can save money by registering for camp on Camp Discount Day – June 7! The cost for all campers who register on June 7 is $95.00. OSU Extension, Hocking County will be open 8 am – 6 pm on June 7 for your convenience. The discount day savings is open to all youth who register for camp on June 7. All 4-H members are encouraged to attend. Youth who are not enrolled in 4-H are also welcome.

Hocking County 4-H Horse Committee is hosting an open horse show on August 24, 2013.
Changes to 4-H Clovergram Delivery
Due to budget challenges, the 4-H program is changing our method of disseminating the 4-H Clovergram newsletter. 4-H families who have provided their e-mail address will receive an e-mail notification and an attached newsletter from Shannon Wenger, wenger.106@osu.edu. If families are unable to open the attachment, the newsletter will also be posted to the OSU Extension, Hocking County web-site at www.hocking.osu.edu.
Ohio State Launches Ohio Scholarship Challenge
The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.
