What do you snack on? Potato chips, candy bars, fruit-flavored candies? We all say we can’t afford to eat healthy, but how much do we pay for junk food? Let’s try to fill our most important vehicle, our body, with the best fuel available.

In June at the Washington County libraries, Cindy Styer, Ohio State University Extension Family Nutrition Program Assistant, will provide ideas to Eat A Rainbow of Snacks. Join her in Belpre on June 4 at 1:30; New Matamoras on June 8 at 1:30; June 18 in Marietta at 1:30; and in Beverly on June 27 at 1:30.

Participants will compare nutrient content and cost of vegetables to ‘conventional’ snack foods. Vegetable brushes will be presented to all in attendance.

If you have questions or want information and cannot attend, please call Cindy at 376-7431.

These programs are funded by the USDA Food Stamp Program
