  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest we try to get even more vegetables into our diets. Purple and dark green vegetables provide unique benefits. Join Cindy Styer, Ohio State University Extension Family Nutrition Program Assistant, at the Washington County libraries to see how and why to incorporate these vegetables into your diet. Eggplant recipes will be featured. 

Be a participant at these locations and receive a free cutting board to prepare your vegetables:

  • August 2 - 2pm - Barlow
  • August 6 - 1:30pm - Belpre
  • August 16 - 1:30pm - New Matamoras
  • August 20 - 1:30pm - Marietta
  • August 22 - 1:30pm - Beverly

The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.
